To check your site's tagging manually, we provide a browser extension for free called Tag Inspector. It lets you see clearly all parameters generated by your tagging, as they should be listed in the interface. But most importantly, it gives you warnings on the value sent in all parameters if they do not match the expectations, or if their format can be improved. If you are logged in to your account, it automatically gets the detailed information of sites you've been given access to (gets your custom domains, replaces the site number by your site label etc...).
Tag Inspector is a fine solution to check your hits manually, but when it comes to long tag checkings for large perimeters we provide another solution called Tag Crawler. Check out below !
Data Collection Portal provides under its Tools section a crawling tool called Tag Crawler, built by our teams to check hits generated on the loading of all URLs you need to verify.
The interface lists:
- each crawl you triggered for the same site
- the number of URLs crawled
- the number of URLs tagged among the URLS crawled
- the tagging ratio.
- the list of URLs crawled with their hits (or not)
All results can be exported if needed with the dedicated button.
The configuration has to be set with our support teams, to provide the URLs to be crawled, and any potential specification (authentication, restrictions...). Once the crawl has been validated by our teams you can follow your crawl results in the interface, and the rules used with the dedicated button
