You can understand some of these metrics calculation method by clicking the question mark next to the metric's label. Here is a list of definitions for some of these metrics:

  • First sessions: When the application is launched for the 1st time or just after being reinstalled.
  • First sessions after update: Same as above, but after an update has been made
  • New visitors: Number of visitors that launch the application for the first time or the first time after it has been uninstalled. On a 1 day period, a visitor can only have one status : new or returning.
  • Returning visitors: Number of visitors, for 1 day, that is not new (second day of use or more).
  • Session: A session begins when the application is launched or brought to the foreground and ends when the application is killed or sent in background for more than 60 seconds. You can find multiple sessions for a single visit.
  • New visitors sessions: Number of sessions for a new visitor.
  • Returning visitors sessions: Number of sessions for a returning visitor.
  • Recent visitors: Visitors whose first session is more recent than 7 days (compared to the analysis period).
  • Neutral visitors: Visitors whose first session was between the last 7 and 30 days (compared to the analysis period).
  • Engaged visitors: Visitors whose first session was older than the last 30 days and whose latest session is more recent than 2 days (compared to the analysis period).
  • Occasional visitors: Visitors whose first session was later than the last 30 days and whose latest session is older than the last 7 days (compared to the analysis period).
