What is the difference between a full URL and a short URL?

A full REST URL contains all the template's parameters: dimensions, metrics, filters, sorting, site, period, etc. The short URL can be customised on the fly, but it will not be updated automatically when the template is edited.

For example:
https://apirest.atinternet-solutions.com/data/v2/getData?&columns={d_page,m_visits}&sort={-m_visits}&filter={d_page:{$lk:'home'}}&space={s:496576}&period={D:{start:'2014-08-12',end:'2014-08-12'}}&max-results=10&include={context}&sep=comma

A short REST URL summarises all these parameters in a single code, for example, "code=1HBrlq". The short code enables you to avoid copy-and-paste errors, but it is not customisable. You must therefore edit the template in order to edit the URL. Once the template is edited, the URL will automatically be modified as well.

For example:
https://apirest.atinternet-solutions.com/data/v2/getData?code=1HBrlq&max-results=10&include={context}
