Certain data sets are compatible with multi-site mode. In these cases, you may display data from several different level 1 sites in the same graph. To do this, you must first import multi-site templates from Data Query.
Start by creating a data set using the “Import a multi-site template” option:
From the list that is displayed, you may select one or several templates to import. Once the imports have been completed, you may close the import window by clicking the “close” button:
The multi-site-compatible data sets you've created will appear in your dashboard’s list of data sets, next to an icon featuring 3 stacked blocks:
When you enable your data set, the box will by default display single-site data. To integrate additional sites, you must edit the box’s context. Click on the box’s settings button, then open the “Context” tab in the settings panel (1). Tick the “Fixed site” option (2), select as many sites as you’d like (3), then save your selection (4).
To help make your dashboard more comprehensible, and to specify that the displayed box contains data compiled from multiple sites, we suggest you tick the box marked “display the site”.
The multi-site scope is specific to a box. Boxes displaying data from several sites will not be automatically refreshed, should you change the scope (perimeter) of the overall dashboard.
The following items in multi-site data sets cannot be edited: dimensions, filter on “page views” (> 0). Nonetheless, you can delete metrics, apply filters or sort columns.
The suggested multi-site templates are generic. You may not select dimensions or metrics other than those which are available in the list of templates to import.
You may not display a line graph which groups together audience data from several sites when the templates used are standard metric preview templates. The graph will display several lines – one per site.
